Our orchestra was founded for the Dental Academy’s fifth anniversary in 1961 – so we have been around for over 60 years. We are affiliated with Umeå University and always perform at the University’s Spring Graduation and Annual Celebration. Our biggest moment was when performing at the Nobel Banquet Dance in 1996.
Every November, we hold our annual jubilee concert, and on Walpurgis Night, we celebrate the arrival of spring with a concert. We are also happy to play at conventions and private parties.
We have a broad repertoire and can adapt it to the audience’s wishes and responses. We play everything from Frank Sinatra to the Beatles, Abba, rock, pop, disco, evergreens etc. We have a trumpet section, trombone section, saxophone section, piano/bass guitar/guitar/drums, and four outstanding singing ladies.
We were featured on German television (NDR) on our last two tours to Germany.
